On Tuesday and Wednesday students will be working on a project that will count as a major grade. 12/11-12/15 This week we will be testing on geometric properties and then beginning our next unit about pythagorean theorem. Students will be given a homework sheet on Tuesday. Please make sure that you are checking that your student is doing his/her homework EACH NIGHT! 12/4-12/8 This week we will be continuing with Geometric properties. We will begin by reviewing angle relationships. Students will get their equations tests back this week. This will be a special opportunity for students. If students make test corrections to any/all questions, I will give back a 1/2 point back to EACH question. (I have not determined a due date yet) 11/27-12/1 This week we are starting our unit on Geometric Properties. We will be reviewing angle relationships, properties of triangles, and similar figures and then extending this to our previous unit about equations. On Thursday there will be an open note quiz about do they know the vocabulary and accurately use the vocabulary. 11/20-11/21 On Monday, we will be reviewing Equations with a test on Tuesday. This week will be a practice week dedicated to developing mastery of solving the equations. 10/9-10/13 This week we will be continuing our unit about Equations. We will be taking a closer look at equations with variables on both sides. Not every equation has a solution, sometimes, there are many answers and sometimes there are none. Please make sure your child does their HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT!!!! There will be an equations QUIZ on FRIDAY!!! Peer tutoring is available through Jr. Beta Thursdays until 3:30, please email Jennifer Ulloa for more information. 8/21-8/24 Welcome back from track out! I will be passing back graded papers this week and grades will be updated by the end of the week. Students need to make sure that they get the rest of the Weekly Essentials from me for the rest of the quarter. Students had the option to get them before tracking out. This week we are starting a new math homework program that is a spiral review. Due to copyright, I cannot post it to the website, but hard copies are available to students in the classroom. They will receive one homework sheet a week. They need to show all work for each problem to receive credit on a separate sheet of paper. I have posted articles to the side that researched the benefits of spiral math homework, and I have seen how well it works from tutoring. Each night students have less than 10 questions to complete and that is the only homework I will assign, except to possibly finish a class work assignment. This week we will begin our next unit on scientific notation. Due: Tuesday - Solar Eclipse Math Equation Worksheet Friday - Test Corrections, Please follow ALL guidelines (if extra copies are needed, please look at the Parent Page) 7/24-7/28 This week we are continuing our unit on Number Sense with a focus on approximating non perfect square roots. There will be a test on this unit on Thursday. Have a happy track out! I am giving students the rest of the Weekly Essentials for Quarter 1, students are more than welcome to work on them over trackout, but it is not required. However, some students are behind with their Weekly Essentials, so please make sure that your students get caught up or they can get ahead. Due: Puzzle Packet (Thursday) Warm Ups (Friday) 7/17-7/21 This week we will be continuing working with the real number system, but with a focus on perfect squares and perfect cubes. DUE: - Puzzle Pack for homework (Friday) 7/10-7/14 This week we will be starting our unit on the Real Number System. Please make sure that you review the syllabus and returned with student and parent signatures before Friday, (earlier returns means tickets!). Due: Friday- Signed Syllabus |
